At the edge
Oil on panel
8"x8"
$175
I realize this one may not be everyone's cup of tea but I like it for its simplicity and abstraction. The title has at least three meaning. On a formal level, the painting is at the edge where representation turns into total abstraction. Pictorally, it could be showing the edge of a land mass or even the sea. Finally, on a symbolical level, I painted it when we were teetering on the edge of economic disaster. Let's hope we've pulled away from that edge.

"At the Edge" is very much my cup of tea - psychological symbolism. And I think we are moving away from the economic edge. Here in our neighborhood there is a house with a pending sale. The new owners will have a living space for their parents plus much more room than they would have been able to buy just from their income.
