Evening
Oil on panel
6"x6"
SOLD

It's a good thing that I'm not a teacher and that I don't have to do demos. Every time I start a painting with an end look in mind the painting does an about face and marches in the other direction. This one was going to be very abstract, very deKooningesque but somehow came out much quieter, more realistic. Maybe I'll try the subject again and see if I can convert it into a party animal.

It`s moody and beautiful Steven. I`m glad you`re painting and posting more often. You get a lot of feeling into those small paintings.

But that's one of the things I love about painting? Not always but sometimes, at some point a painting takes you where it wants to go. Often somewhere you never would have thought of going.

I continue to enjoy your work and thanks for bringing Stanley Bielen to our attention.

I'm with Bill. I think it's helpful when the Teacher shows that sometimes you have to improvise and go with the flow. That seems to be the difference between technical expertise and actual creativity or expressionism.
Nice results, for sure!
